UNION PACIFIC MODEL RAILROAD CLUB INC.

Photos from around the UP Club Layout!

The Eastern terminus is Sierra Central. This area of the layout contains a major classification yard (called North Yard), a busy industrial area known as Keats Street and a large locomotive servicing facility including a 9 stall roundhouse and turntable. Sierra Central extends east to layover tracks at Chicago.

From Sierra Central, the railroad climbs the gentle grade up Sandhill to Hughieville. From here, the line branches to Bliss, a coal mine at Monarch and a timber industry at Climax. The main line continues upgrade from Hughieville, through Lookout Ridge, over the Monach Trestle, El Pasco and onwards to the top at Summit. From here, the line descends down to Pacfic Flats via Nunton. There is a major classification yard and engine facility at Pacific Flats. A branch line also runs over Browns Plains which is home to many industries from cement to electricity plants. It is also a railhead for stock and many road freight companies. The line then continues west to layover tracks at Los Angeles.

The main line from Sierra Central to Pacific Flats is controlled by a Dispatcher.
