Browns Plains

Here we see UP GP9 #151 spotting a string of hoppers near the Portland Cement factory at Browns Plains. A major industrial town, Browns Plains is a branch of the Sierra Central railroad with an interchange at Pacific Flats.

Industies include the cement works, a grain store, power station, general industry and stock yards. Browns Plains also serves as the interchange for the mainline to western railroads with trackage to Los Angeles.

Also located at Browns Plains is a small, diesel engine servicing facility. Here we see UP GP7 #107 being serviced with sand and fuel before duty calls.
