Annual Model Train Show

For the past several years, the Union Pacific Model Railroad Club hosted a Model Train Show at the Holland Park Bowls Club, Abbotsleigh Road, Holland Park.

The show typically showcases a number of operating layouts and static displays of various model gauges (or scales), eras and locations. The show is an excellent opportunity for anyone interested in model trains to view a variety of operating layouts. People new to the hobby can talk to the layout owners / operators to learn more about the hobby. There is also a layout for children to try their hand at train running. The Club's own layout will be in operation showcasing several eras of American steam and diesel powered trains. The club's layout is a large, multi-operator layout set in the Sierra Nevada Mountains.

However, due to a number of reasons, the Club is considering whether or not to hold the show in November 2009 and is looking at alternatives such as holding an Open Day. Details to be confirmed.
